I am thinking about getting it dark. I have light skin blue eyes and blonde hair but darker blonde.

I have light skin, light blue eyes, and dark blonde hair just like you! Let me first start by telling you that dark blonde hair is a beautiful color and there are so many people that would love to have hair like ours. Still, sometimes we want to experiment, make a small change here or there, just for fun- and I know exactly how you feel. I have dyed my hair so many colors just for fun and shock value. Still, when I dye my hair, I always use a semi- or demi-permanent dye (level one or two), NEVER a permanent one (level three). Levels one and two dyes don't contain ammonia or peroxide and don't strip your hair of moisture, plus, if you don't like the way the color looks, you're only stuck with it for a month, tops (you can speed this process up by alternating your shampoo with dish soap and following up with a thick, creamy, penetrating conditioner).

Out of all the colors I've dyed my hair (black, blue, pink, green, aqua, chocolate, red, and copper), I would say my favorite was the copper. It worked well with my coloring, looked natural, but still brightened up my look. Red is usually a little too dramatic and very often looks artificial. The copper comes out on dark blonde hair as a kind of rich, dark orangey-red, and since you probably have a bunch of natural highlights, there will be a lot of depth and dimension to the color. I wish I could find a picture for reference, but I can't seem to find any that match the color.

In any event, the color that I'm going to recommend to you is L'Oreal's Color Pulse Mousse in Copper Blast. I'll list the website, but keep in mind since you've got dark blonde hair, the color you're going to get will be slightly darker than the swatch on the site. The great thing(s) about Color Pulse is that it's really affordable, super easy to use, washes out in about a week and a half, and leaves your hair feeling super soft %26amp; looking really shiny.

Since it only lasts about 10 days, if you don't like it, your hair will return to its normal color. If you decide that you love it, you can either continue using it, or snip a tiny swatch of your hair to compare the color to permanent dyes (try to find ones with no ammonia or peroxide!) or to bring to a salon to show a colorist.

So basically, the short answer to your question is yes, but maybe opt for a more orangey copper color... %26amp; try to stick with level one or two dyes in case you change your mind.

If you have light skin, then you should be fine.

I find only people with paler skin can get away with reds without looking fake =/

I have pale skin, blue eyes, and I dyed my hair red. I LOVE it. Best thing I ever did.

Th only difference is my natural hair color is black. =D

Lots of red heads have blue eyes and light skin so I think you would really be able to pull it off. Especially if you already have blonde hair, because if you can pull off a light color you can pull off a dark color. It always seems that blondes can go dark but brunettes can't go blonde, so i think it'll look fine.
