No. They never completely come out. Once you dye your hair, it will never be the same exact color. However, it will be pretty close using the temp hair colors.

Red hair dye is the hardest to come out and will not ever completely come out. I have been doinghair for years. Trust me.

I am not saying don't do it...I say what the hell, go for it...but be prepared to keep dying afterwards!

Yes, but make sure it says that on the label. Try a Clairol rinse. Clairol also have a haircolor remover, if the brand you use doesn't wash out. You can find these products at any beauty supply store.

28 shampoos sounds like a lot to me. I have blonde hair and was also wanting to try to dye it red (I just love red hair). Anyways I would not trust red hair color to wash out very easily. However I do get red really red highlights in my hair. I love it, why dont you try that instead. Make sure you get "chunky" highlights they are more noticable.

Depends on what color your hair is now. Blonde may take longer to wash out. Brunettes may wash out in 28 shampoos but i think it may still leave a tint of red. Honestly if I was you I would call or go up to a salon and ask someone there this very question, because they would be able to look at your hair and give you a better answer then any of us could. I think you will find that almost every colour will have a brand that washes out in 28washes etc. I no red does as my friend just got one.

I've had experience. And i won't try to talk you out of it because black is a pretty kicking color for a while (especially with red) I would say Sallys, wella color for grey hair (powder mix) It costs like 4.00 and you can mix it with water. The black stays in (thank god it doesn't fade to grey) and it's just an excellent product. And yes, black covers everything (it even stained my bathroom) Best of luck! I have light skin, light blue eyes, and dark blonde hair just like you! Let me first start by telling you that dark blonde hair is a beautiful color and there are so many people that would love to have hair like ours. Still, sometimes we want to experiment, make a small change here or there, just for fun- and I know exactly how you feel. I have dyed my hair so many colors just for fun and shock value. Still, when I dye my hair, I always use a semi- or demi-permanent dye (level one or two), NEVER a permanent one (level three). Levels one and two dyes don't contain ammonia or peroxide and don't strip your hair of moisture, plus, if you don't like the way the color looks, you're only stuck with it for a month, tops (you can speed this process up by alternating your shampoo with dish soap and following up with a thick, creamy, penetrating conditioner).

Out of all the colors I've dyed my hair (black, blue, pink, green, aqua, chocolate, red, and copper), I would say my favorite was the copper. It worked well with my coloring, looked natural, but still brightened up my look. Red is usually a little too dramatic and very often looks artificial. The copper comes out on dark blonde hair as a kind of rich, dark orangey-red, and since you probably have a bunch of natural highlights, there will be a lot of depth and dimension to the color. I wish I could find a picture for reference, but I can't seem to find any that match the color.

In any event, the color that I'm going to recommend to you is L'Oreal's Color Pulse Mousse in Copper Blast. I'll list the website, but keep in mind since you've got dark blonde hair, the color you're going to get will be slightly darker than the swatch on the site. The great thing(s) about Color Pulse is that it's really affordable, super easy to use, washes out in about a week and a half, and leaves your hair feeling super soft %26amp; looking really shiny.

Since it only lasts about 10 days, if you don't like it, your hair will return to its normal color. If you decide that you love it, you can either continue using it, or snip a tiny swatch of your hair to compare the color to permanent dyes (try to find ones with no ammonia or peroxide!) or to bring to a salon to show a colorist.

So basically, the short answer to your question is yes, but maybe opt for a more orangey copper color... %26amp; try to stick with level one or two dyes in case you change your mind.

Especially if you already have blonde hair, because if you can pull off a light color you can pull off a dark color. it really depends on yr hair color, if u have dark brown to black it will give u an orangy color. if you have light brown to dark blonde you will get lighter blonde. i think clairol makes this lightening stuff that will not turn yr hair orange. u just spray it in when yr hair is damp and dry it with a blow dryer so u cna use it even in winter when u can't lie outside in the sun

It depends on your natural color. If your natural color is ash based, no, it won't turn it orange. BUT if your natural color has warmer tones (for example golden highlights), then yes, it will turn it orange.

It depends on what your natural hair color is and how the chemicals react with your hair. I have blonde hair and I've tried it, it lightened mine a little, and definitely didn't turn it red/orangish though. Maybe if you have very dark hair, but I think it's mostly designed for dark blonde hair or light brown. My hair is already pretty light, and it didn't do a whole lot. Give it a shot if you want.

If you're somewhat blonde already, sunlight will brighten your hair. Just sit outside for maybe 20 mintutes a day and you should see some natural highlights come in.

The only change that I recommend is that you visit a beauty supply store to get your platinum blonde dye. I'm not a professional, but I've colored other people's hair and once dyed a teen's hair white on top. His hair was naturally dark brown and regular hair dyes just didn't do it. I went to my local Salee's beauty supply and picked up a professional blonde dye, which was actually a thick paste that I applied to his hair with a brush. It worked a charm and didn't burn up his hair. I just followed the directions on the product and double-checked with the clerks, who I found fairly knowledgeable about the products.

I had the best blue and the best red hair in college. the key is to make your hair white first with bleach, use professional stuff you can buy, then use the permenant blue die and blow dry it in, then wash it. It will look awesome!

WAIT one second....Do not under any circumstances color your hair red from a box over blonde highlights. I'm a hairstylist...And the reason why you can't, is because over the counter hair colors don't know if you are trying to lift through your natural color, or just deposit color over an old highlite. All store brands use a 20 vol minimum developer to open up the cuticle... If you are just depositing color you need to use 10Vol, at min..5 if you have it. Red is the hardest color to get to stay in your hair because of the way the molecules stick together... I promise if you buy a box of red color and color your old highlites within 2 weeks, your hair is just going to be orange. And if you just replace it, your further damaging your hair. If you just had it done...you can cover it up...But let me ask you why? Did you do the color yourself? Or did someone else do it? If you did it yourself and lets say its not blonde but kind of yellow...You can fix that by having a hairstilist run a toner over it... And if you paid for it and aren't happy, you just return to the salon...And express why not.. They would be happy to fix it for you. However if its just your not likeing how you look in blonde...They will definitly charge you to change the overall color..

All you have to do is go to the salon and ask them to bleach your hair blonde. Or you could buy one of those kits at the store that you bleach your own hair but I wouldn't recomend it!! I hate those do it yourself kits.

You should have it professionally done. Unless you're already a shade of blonde, it's one of the hardest colors to get right when you use a box color at home. You may have to have it done twice 6 weeks apart depending on how well your hair takes the color. Reds often turn an unfavorable color of orange before they turn blonde.

You'll have to get your roots touched up every 6-8 weeks too. You can ask your stylist to do highlights AND lowlights which will give your hair dimension and when it starts to grow out won't look as noticeable as if they do just one color; then you won't have to get touch ups as often.

You could always try the home box kits or ask your friends what they did and try that first. Just have a backup salon in mind if it doesn't look good.

A full head bleach is a salon job. Just remember about the maintenance- too much root looks bad. Maybe a better option is heavy highlighting- the regrowth is not as bad. The further you go away from your natural the more you need to maintain. You can always model for salon to help defray the salon cost. Sure why not? What do you have to lose? If you should discover that you don't like it, you could always have your hair trimmed and then let it grow out, and then use those highlights everyone else has been talking about as it grows out, so that it doesn't look too weird.

Overall, I say if you're even remotely thinking about it, just do it!!! You only live once and you might as well go for the gusto!!! Just be careful if you color it yourself, otherwise make an appointment with your hairdresser.

With red in your hair, it might be wise for the first time to have it professionally colored. Coloring kits just don't lift the color like the salon colors do and you might end up with ORANGE! Dark hair has a certain strength and rugged sense to it. Usually it is more wavy or coarse than lighter hair. It contributes to the macho image people have of what a man should be. Blondies are sexy too though. Redheads always look a bit sickly to me...as the freckles...just creep me out when they are excessive.

Sure why not? What do you have to lose? If you should discover that you don't like it, you could always have your hair trimmed and then let it grow out, and then use those highlights everyone else has been talking about as it grows out, so that it doesn't look too weird.

Overall, I say if you're even remotely thinking about it, just do it!!! You only live once and you might as well go for the gusto!!! Just be careful if you color it yourself, otherwise make an appointment with your hairdresser.

With red in your hair, it might be wise for the first time to have it professionally colored. Coloring kits just don't lift the color like the salon colors do and you might end up with ORANGE! Let them do it the first time, then you can follow-up every 6 weeks with coloring kits from the store. Good Luck! (I love being a blonde!)

And then if you colored it black on top of the red shade it would turn your hair light brown and brassy.

If you want to go lighter you will have to first take out the color you now have. That means using a lightener. Follow the directions and then buy the color you want and follow the directions. This will give you the lighter strawberry blonde that you want. You'll have to touch up the roots of course and this is very drying. Save the conditioner and use it and always use cool water to rinse your hair to close the folicles and finish drying on cool too. Then when you decide to darken again you'll need to keep putting your natural color or whatever color you want on. Good luck. Have fun. Hey, you can always buy a color close to your own or darker and keep it just in case. Also, all colors have PH. #'s to call and ask if you have questions. Fading highlights can be cured by using a purple stuff or a blonde shampoo every few days after it starts to fade. It'll bring it back but it is drying too. So, condition often.
