2 years ago I dyed my hair red..since then i've tried eveyrthing to get it out..I have dyed darker colors over it , and it turns red..i've gone to a salon and had it stripped, but it turned more orange, so i went back after a while and had it done again and the same thing happened..so after a while i went to a different salon and they said it never should've been stripped, and they dyed it darker then my natural color (which is light brown), well that eventually turned red too..i left it alone for over 6 months, and decided to try a natural hair dye that is suppose to work against reds, but i can still see red in it when i dye it with this hair dye..so is my only option to let it grow out?? After I have my natural hair color back i will never dye it again!! If anyone can help i would really appreciate it sooo much!
I Can't get the red out of my hair..?
A reason why you're seeing so much red is that all the stripping may have pulled out the red in your natural hair and it's adding to the red color. Sorry, but red's really hard to get out. My best recommendation is to get it professionally colored by someone who has a great rep for coloring hair and I'm sure they will dye it with a brown that has green undertones to cancel out the red. After that, make sure that you're using a really good shampoo like Enjoy that will protect your color. Anything store bought will strip your color guaranteed. And then reinforce your new color with a tinted conditioner like Artec. Best!

the problem is the colors they/you are using are amonia based, combined with peroxide, which oxidizes your natural melanin out of the hair shaft, thus providing space for the synthetic color molecule. I suggest a deposit only formula, such as L'Oreal Richesse. Of course in order to obtain these products you should consult once again with your stylist, and discuss your coloring options and effects. Perhaps over time with just a deposit only color you will be able to finally just let it all grow out, or not. Good Luck
