It could be a natural highlight from the sun. If you wear your hair up a lot, the sun may have bleached just that one strand of hair.

that's happened to me before too and i have really dark brown almost black hair from my asian dad. but my aunt (mom's american) had red hair as a child it's probably just in your genes no big. but i find in the summer my hair get's lighter and if i don't wash my hair it gets really brown/red

Red is one of the underlying pigments in dark brown and brown-black hair. If you were to bleach yours, for example, you'd see the layer of red pigment lift last.
